SNOWBOARDING.
It's the freedom of expression. Everyone has a different stance, a different style, a different technique, a different line, a different run, a different experience. When you see a crew run a set in sequence and although all may look similar, there are unique variances in each person's steeze that makes each individual person a star in their own right. Freeride. Freestyle. Back country. Street. Park. Pipe. The boundaries are constantly being pushed and broken. We are all the same. Snowboarders. But were are all unique. We ride rocker or cambered decks. We ride powder boards or short jib sticks. We wear flashy baggy kits or tight emo pants. The opportunity for individualism and self expression is limited only by the imagination of the individual.

Dog Jog . . . More pics!

Just to let you know how much hard work went into making this event possible, the CHS had some 900 volunteers which was estimated to be the equivalent of 41 full time employees. A big thank you to all who made last week a great success.

Check the rest of the photos from the event on my flickr page.>>> Click here

CHS (Calgary Humane Society) Dog Jog 2010

Today I was fortunate enough to help/volunteer at the CHS Dog Jog. Ok dog lovers this events was so much fun, and if you have never done this before I would highly suggest it for next year.... so mark your calendars!
How would I describe it?! well I would combine the high energy and excitement of a 5km dash/marathon and doggie entertainment galore.
You get to run or walk with you dog with the rest of the pack for 2 or 5km, then go from tent to tent and can treat yourself to a massage, your dog to a massage, doggie grooming and pedicure, test different toys before you purchase any, dog caricatures, city of calgary give aways, free stuff from Jack fm and energy 101, practice jumping and guiding your dog through tunnels . . .  shall I continue? cause there is more. Live entertainment, food, contests for the kids.... there was so much going on and it was such a great time.
Here is a little look at what went down, Flickr pics to be posted soon.

Sunshine Downtown Throw Down

This past Monday, Sunshine held a fun event to showcase a few of their terrain park staff in the middle of downtown Calgary... During lunch!
I am sure you can just imagine the surprised looks on all the business peoples faces as they walk down Stephen ave only to see 1) snow!?!?! and 2) a park setup (ramp + 20ft flat box)?!?!!?, let alone skiers and snowboarders jumping onto the box and sliding in some manner to the end. ha ha ha the crowds were definitely stopping to check out the action.

Sunshine at the Park - 04/11

Yesterday was out at Sunshine and all in all had a really great day. It started out a bit sketchy with sticky compact snow, but lower down the mountain we were able to get to some untouched tree runs... Sooo Good. In the end we ended up in the park and we seshed a few features for the rest of the day. It was hard to see where everything was due to conditions, eventually the lovely sunshine park crew added a splash of color to the park and all could see. Just going through the pics and hopefully will have something to post shortly.

COP . . . Last call this weekend!

It is sad to know COP's last weekend this season is the one coming up. With the tempuratures getting warmer it is not hard to believe at all. Last weekend at COP I was only able to get two hours of ridable time till the snow got too sticky and rendered unridable. Mind you I did have a late start at around noon.

Since it is going to the last weekend for COP, officially called the Canada Olympic Park's 4th Annual Winter Season Ender Bender, there will be plenty of Easter themed activites and some contests/challenges for prizes.

For those of you shredding the little time left in the park, it is COP Last Call Photo Session.

Volcom PBRJ at Lake Louise

Yesterday was the Volcom Peanut Butter Rail Jam stop #14 at Lake Louise and it ended up being a great sunny day.

It was a three zone setup with a down box, flat box to down down rail and a flat down rail. The competitors were throwing down, having fun and pigging out on peanut butter & jam sandwiches, chips and cookies. What more can you ask for.

Below are a few snaps from the Men's Category

And of course a the pics from the Ladies division:

MPORA...

MPORA....  have you heard of this site? It is a european action sport site and it is awesome. It covers sports from snowboarding, skate, bmx, motocross, surfing, and a few more.

The past few weeks the site has been holding tons and tons of great contest give aways, and what do you know they drew my name out of a hat. I got some KNOG bike gear courtesy of MPORA.
